Steps We're Taking to Fight COVID-19
March 27th UPDATE - Hello to all of our loyal customers. We just wanted to share some information of how we are keeping busy and we cannot wait until we can open our doors again to all of you. At this time, we don't know when that will be, but we will keep you all updated. Our aeration is 99% complete and has gone well, our locker room renovations are coming along, albeit a little slower then we had anticipated, but the lockers are being installed this week so that is a plus...photos to come soon.
All of our employees and their families are incredibly important to us, we consider them our family so we have started a meal to go program where we offer our staff the opportunity twice a week to pick up pre-made meals for them and their families in hopes that we can help alleviate some of their stresses.
We hope you are all staying safe and healthy!
March 24th UPDATE - Aeration has begun and is going well! After discussions with the team we have made the difficult decision to postpone opening for at least another week, with a tentative opening date of Saturday, April 4th, which will give us a closure of at least two weeks. Due of the fluidity of COVID-19 this can change. Please check back for updates.
While our maintenance team is continuing to work the course we ask that no one walks, runs, bikes, rolls on the golf course, including the cart path. This is for the safety of everyone.
March 22nd UPDATE - To all golfers, note we will no be offering power cart or push cart rentals.
March 20th UPDATE - As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, we continue to take steps to protect our guests and staff. Today our amazing, hardworking grounds crew removed all of the on course ball washers and are continuing to sanitize all of the pin flags, should guests continue to use them.
Also the entire golf course will be closed starting at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 22nd for our scheduled annual aeration. The Golf Shop, including the phones will be closed from Monday, March 23rd and reopening on Friday, March 27th from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm to field phone calls for tee times and payments for the weekend.
Note that the Driving Range will also be closed from Monday, March 23rd and scheduled to reopen on Saturday, March 28th.
This is a reminder that Morgans Restaurant and Wine Bar is still closed, and The Turn Cafe will be closed Monday to Saturday of next week.
March 18th UPDATE - We have also removed all rakes from the bunkers. We are still allowing power cart rentals at this time. We are cleaning the carts before and after each use, including cleaning it in front of the renter. Should you want to ride in a cart alone we are respecting this. You will only be charged the same as if you were riding with another.
March 17th UPDATE - As we have seen over the recent weeks, the global spread of COVID-19 is impacting us all. Like most businesses, we have been carefully monitoring the progression and have been strictly following the advice of the provincial and federal governments.
Due to the current state of events we have made the difficult, but necessary decision to close Morgans Restaurant and Wine Bar, for at least two weeks. For all of those with restaurant reservations, our team will be reaching out to you to confirm your cancellation.
We are sad it has come to this, but we all need to do our part in flattening the curve, protecting our guests, employees and everyone in between. At this time, the golf course and snack bar will remain open, but with social distancing procedures in place.
March 16th UPDATE - Please note we are limiting the number of guests in our restaurant to 50 guests and our tables will be more spread out. Also, for the safety of our guests and staff, we will no longer be accepting cash as a form of payment. Online tee time bookings have been disabled and we are requesting that all guests looking for a time, to please call the golf shop at 604-531-4653. We are also asking the prepayment be required for all future bookings to assist with the social distancing.
March 13 - In recognizing how dynamic the situation is around COVID-19, and in an effort to follow guidelines set out by the provincial and federal government, Morgan Creek Golf Course has taken many steps to help in protecting our staff and guests.
Some of the steps we have taken include:
• We have increased the frequency in which we sanitize/disinfect our high-volume areas
• Our food preparation areas are always held to the highest cleaning standards put in place by the Fraser Health Authority
• We have installed touchless hand sanitizer stations throughout the clubhouse for all guests and staff to take advantage of
• We are working on and have updated our cancellation policies and have greater flexibility for events currently booked to reduce financial burdens to our customers
• All staff members have been advised that if they have travelled within the last 3 weeks or are feeling any fever or cough symptoms to take the appropriate steps and self-quarantine.
We are requesting that if you have travelled or are experiencing any symptoms, to please follow the guidelines set out by the provincial and federal health authority, as we are diligently working on creating a safe environment for our guests and staff.
We wish to place particular emphasis on the importance of health and well-being of all our guests and employees and we specifically request that all individuals do their part. Stay home if you feel unwell, show symptoms, or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
